A love letter to my design clients - past, present, and future

I don’t know if it’s because we’re in the last days of October and heading into November with Thanksgiving on my mind, but the idea for this blog post keeps visiting me in my mind. This loop-de-loop always signals to me that it’s one I need to follow through on so here goes...a love letter to my clients, past, present and future. 

A love letter to my design clients - past, present, and future

In a service based industry like residential interior design, let's face it, clients are everything. While a custom home builder, contractor, or architect sometimes brings us onto a design project as a trusted referral, in most cases, its the homeowner who brings us into their home and onto their project first.

Everyone has their own idea of what home means: A peaceful retreat from the outside world. A backdrop for memories and milestones. A place to welcome friends and loved ones for spur-of-the-moment visits or elaborate celebrations. Whatever home means to you, our client-centered approach to design lets us bring that meaning forward, giving you spaces that are beautiful reflections of who you are and what you love. Thank you for inviting us to partner with you as your designer.

Clients are at the core of what we do here at Nancy Lane Interiors and we consider the opportunity to share our time, talent, and expertise doing what we love akin to winning the lottery every day. It’s been a gift and a blessing to be able to do the projects I’ve done and to work with the people I’ve worked with over the years, no matter how big or small the project.

I know there are so many designers to choose from and I appreciate it every time a potential client reaches out to inquire about working with us. I love and appreciate our clients and hope every past client has felt that through our little tokens of appreciation over the years, whether a candle, or handwritten note, a birthday card or a random text showing you something I found in my travels and travails that made me think of you. I try my best to make people feel seen, heard, and appreciated in life and again, I hope every one of you felt that during our time working together. 

Repeat clients, like those I’m currently working with again, you have to know that I both appreciate and adore you. Thank you for trusting me time and time again in your homes and with your design dreams. Your support and loyalty mean so much to me, more than I can articulate here. My heart is full of gratitude for you. 

As this final quarter of the year comes to an end, I’m excited about future collaborations and continuing trusted partnerships with our clients - past, present, and future. Thank you for allowing me and my team into your homes, your lives, and your families. Thank you for trusting NLI to translate and weave your unique stories together to create a home that feels unapologetically like you and unmistakably like home and whatever that truly means to you.  I hope you now know what you all mean to me.
