My Summer Travel Must-Haves

As y'all know, I have been making the trek back and forth between Houston and Savannah to help with my dad's recovery from surgery, and keep him company and cared for after my mom's passing, in rotation along with three of my fantastic sisters. I have to travel pretty lightly to make it easy on myself as I still run my business and juggle being a wife and mom back home, so I thought I'd do a post gathering all those pieces together! If you're looking for a few travel staples, or you've found yourself working remotely and want an easy grab and go routine, keep scrolling!

This one isn't new - my Away suitcase is my go-to carry on for trips big and small, in my signature color. And I'll be honest, all this is holding right now for these trips are my go-to summer uniform of white jeans and a rainbow of linen button down shirts (this is my fav although it's now limited in sizes and colors)!

During our anniversary trip to Jumby Bay this spring, we discovered a brand called Tata Harper when we went to their spa for treatments. I have ultra sensitive skin, so it's very rare that I find something that feels sooo amazing and keeps my skin hydrated, but this line IS IT. It is 100% free from GMOs, toxins, fillers, artificial colors, artificial fragrances, and synthetic chemicals. This revitalizing body oil is definitely is a splurge (happy Mother's Day to me), but in this new season of life, it's important that I do something that is just for me and my own wellbeing while I'm giving my all to my family. And this really does last a long time - two squirts will cover my entire body!

Something I also really appreciate about this company is that you can create a customized travel kit of your favorite products, rather than buying a pre-curated set that they think you may need for travel. The travel sized products range anywhere from $8 to $32, so it's a great way to try things out before committing to a full bottle as well. I do not recommend skincare lightly, y'all - Tata Harper is the real deal!

Remember that uniform of white jeans and button down shirts? These are my new go-to slip on sneakers that go from plane to dad's house and back! Best money I've ever spent - so comfortable! I would say go up half a size or one full size - I usually wear an 8 which is 38, and the 39 fit perfectly. They came straight out of the box and gave me no blisters - I'm definitely ordering the olive color and the leopard print I just saw while compiling these links - YES! It's one of my rules to follow...if you find something comfortable that makes you feel good, buy it in every color available.

I always bring a large tote with me that serves as a purse and a carryon. I've had the Canvas Camden from Madewell for a few months and it now faithfully serves me as a consult bag at work...

sad to say but it's now sold out but never fear...I've got you. Look at this doppelganger...

For a travel bag this has it all...organized pockets, an padded interior laptop pocket and a luggage pass through sleeve so you can set it on top of your carry-on for easier airport maneuvering. I may need to add this one to my bag collection. #allegedly
