The Best Father's Day Gift List Ever

Zion | Photographed by Jonathan Adams

We have about two weeks before Father's Day, and I know I've been wracking my brain for gift ideas for my husband. I always appreciate time alone for Mother's Day, as do all of my mom friends, so that's definitely my first suggestion...the gift of saying "this is your day to do whatever you want {even if its nothing at all}." But if you want to add a cherry on top, scroll through for a few more ideas for your husband and fathers in your life!

US PARKS PASS

For as long as I can remember (which isn't that far back sadly #welcometo50) we have been traveling to national parks for summer vacations with our kids. My husband is the real planner and so far, we've been to little and big parks in Texas and throughout the Southeast, and soon we'll be out West enjoying Brice, Zion, and the Grand Canyon. I jokingly complain about it to my husband, but I completely agree that we want our kids to know our country and enjoy the States before we venture overseas as a family. If you're a fan of national parking too, you can get a US Parks Pass for the year to enjoy!

AWAY LUGGAGE

With travel in mind now that the world is opening back up, an Away bag would be perfect on any dad's list this year. It's made of a durable polycarbonate shell, 360 degree rotating wheels, and you have the option of getting one with a built in battery pack so you can charge on the go. I have the smallest carry-on bag but I think this one would be better...hint hint for next Mother's Day - just saying.

Here's a link for $20 off your first Away bag. Oh and I also love these packing cubes!

SHOES

The older we get, my husband and I both agree that it's important not to skimp on shoes, meaning buy what's comfortable and attractive to you but ALWAYS buy quality. While I was at High Point Market this week (more on that trip next week, once I fully recover, ha!), I admit that after being housebound during covid, I was just as interested in what people were wearing as by what was new in the furniture world. When we went into Pom Pom Home, I noticed a gentleman wearing the coolest pair of leather sneakers so I asked him if he could tell me the brand because they reminded me of something my husband would wear.

He did the sweetest thing...he literally took off one shoe so that I could take a picture of the brand...Floris von Bommel. I admit I'd never heard of them but I did a little research and found that they've been making luxury shoes since 1734. I'd have to think that a company who's been around that long has got to be doing something right, am I right? The hubs will find out soon enough. #allegedly And yes, they make women's shoes too :)

GRILL ACCESSORIES

If your man is a big griller, or wants to get started, this grill tool set includes 2 large grill prep trays and barbecue tool set with storage case. Does this photo remind you of a makeup brush kit or is it just me? I guess it's the manly man equivalent, so I'm not far off!

SKIN CARE

The most important thing for men to do with their skin care routine is just to start one. You can't go wrong with just a couple of products to start. I'd suggest starting with a good cleanser and a good sunscreen like in this small starter kit.

For those a little braver, here's a multi-piece package by one of my favorites, Aesop.

Let me know if you can get your guy to start that routine...I'm still on my mission, and it is really important to start one, at least with sun protection!

Lastly, here's an idea that is free and would probably be loved most of all...a handwritten letter to Dear old Dad, letting him know how much you love and appreciate him and all he does. Happy early Father's Day to all the dads out there - we see you, we love you, and we thank you for all you do! xoxo!!
